Constructing the foundations
We've got the data and decided to go forward with my plan. Now the emphasis in on building solid foundations, tackling development areas from the assessment data and creating efficient recovery protocols.
Each client's build phase will look different, because it is all linked to your personal data and situation. We'll aggressively target your weakness', add mobility where needed and build stability to give you sound foundations to progress long term.
Load Vs Capacity
We'd have discussed the concept of Load Vs Capacity during the assessment phase. However, now we start to practically apply these ideas to both your sessions and, more importantly, outside of the gym and workouts.
Often we start the build phase by creating a targeted warm up for your activities and build a recovery protocol that suits you. You can only train as hard as your able to recover, so we emphasis your bodies ability to recover very early on in your journey.
Body confidence and trust is key
A lot of my clients come to me after seeing multiple doctors or other health professionals. Unfortunately, this tends to mean that they've been told a lot of what they can't do. Clients tend to feel incredibly fragile and worried about each and every new sensation. A critical component of the build phase is to start to regain trust in your body and your ability to execute movements and feel safe with new sensations.
By building both physical and mental resilience, you'll be able to confidently achieve more than you ever thought. While also developing independence for the long term.
